App-Owned Information

Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by KotobaQ to explain how we collect, use, and protect classroom data. Last updated: 8/6/2026.

What we collect

Students sign up with a username and a 6-character class code. No email address is required. We store the username, any words or decks created, and study progress such as XP, streaks, and mastery levels.

Teachers register with an email address so we can send password-reset links and class notices. Teacher email addresses are used only for account recovery and notices during this account-testing phase.

How we use data

Student and teacher data is used solely to run the KotobaQ app: matching classes, publishing chapter decks, tracking study progress, and sending account-related notices. We do not sell personal data, show behavioral ads, or use data for automated profiling outside the app.

Storage and subprocessors

Data is stored in Supabase, our database and authentication provider. KotobaQ is built on the Lovable platform, which handles hosting and deployment. These are operational subprocessors; we do not share data with them for advertising or unrelated purposes.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. Teachers control their own classes and can remove students or delete class content at any time.

Retention and deletion

Accounts and study data are kept while the account is active. Teachers can delete classes and students can delete their own decks. To request full account deletion, email us at hello@kotobaq.app and we will process it within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

KotobaQ uses only essential cookies required for authentication and app state. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
